Return to Murphy's Irish Pub & the Galway Bay Celtic Music Festival 2017

While we may have been a little quiet of late, its not because we aren't working.

We are excited to return to Murphy's Irish Pub in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle on Oct 21st. This is a lively neighborhood pub that we love playing in because everyone is always so into the music. Come join us for an evening of hard stompin' Celtic rock!

We're not sure how its going to work so join us for the ride!

2017 will be full of big shows and surprises

It has been a while since we posted an update. Seems we are not very good at that. :)

2017 is bringing some exciting changes as we welcome some new friends into the fold. Welcome to Karl van der Velden who brings us his incredible guitar skills.

We also have some exciting shows upcoming. What we can announce at this time is that we'll be returning to Fort Nisqually for their big Friday at the Fort show that is adults only. It was an incredible evening last year performing inside the fort. We also return for the 14th annual Galway Bay Celtic Music festival. This is the largest Celtic music festival on the West Coast and if you have never given yourself the opportunity to experience it, we cannot stress to you enough how incredible it is.

And how about a new CD? Yes, its true. We'll have a new CD out later this year. We dont want to spoil anything for you now. More info to come later.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. We'll keep you updated as we can release more information and as always, you can join us on our Facebook page for more frequent updates: facebook.com/seattlerazors

Irish & Celtic Music Podcast celebrates 10 yrs with Ockham's Razor

Ten years ago, July 28, 2005 to be exact, Irish and Celtic musician Marc Gunn created the very first Irish & Celtic Music Podcast from his love of music and desire to introduce music lovers to new musicians.

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary, Marc has put together some of the best Celtic music that he has featured over the last 10 years including music from Ockham's Razor, The Gothard Sisters, Tallymoore, Stout Pounders, Black 47, The Killdares, Poitin and more.

Busy March on its way

March is the beginning of a busy year of shows.

On March 3rd, we perform our first show in Seattle in almost a year. This will be a fun evening at the Royal Room (http://theroyalroomseattle.com) in Columbia City with our friends Alchymeia (http://www.alchymeia.com). This is an interesting venue as there is no cover charge. Instead, the leave an envelope on each of the tables the audience can put in as little or as much as they want for the bands. Think of it as a "Choose your own door charge".

Can't wait to start celebrating St. Patricks Day? Neither can we! We are starting early on March 13th & 14th at Galway Bay Irish Pub in Ocean Shores, WA. Beat the St. Patricks Day crowds and get your drink on with some hard stompin' Celtic rock early.

St. Patrick's Day falls on a Tuesday this year so you may want to take the day off. And Wednesday as well to recover! We will be rocking Tacoma, WA at Doyle's Public House. If you've never celebrated St. Patrick's Day at Doyle's, here is a sample from when Kris had a green mohawk:

In April we will be heading back up to see our Northern friends in Bellingham, WA at the Green Frog. It is such a good music venue and so many of you came out that we had to make sure we made it back. We look forward to seeing all of you.

The summer festivals will start notifying bands as they confirm lineups and as we hear from them, we will post them on our Tour page.

Do you have pictures from a show that you would like to share? Send them to us on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ockrazors

The Festival Season Begins

Welcome to the 2014 music festival season!

We kick off the festival season by returning to the Northwest Folklife Festival! This is the 43rd anniversary of the festival which attracts over 200,000 people and 300 musicians/bands over the long Memorial Day weekend. This year, we will be performing on the Vera Project stage, which is a cool indoor stage, on Monday (Memorial Day) at 2:00pm.

June takes us back up to the Bellingham Scottish Highland Games. While we have been to Bellingham before, this is our first time ever playing the games. At the end of June we head down to the Tacoma Highland Games which marks our 4th or 5th performance there.

July is the big Pacific Northwest Highland Games. This is the 68th anniversary of the games and is the sixth oldest gathering of its kind in the United States.

August brings us the City of Normandy Park Celtic Music in the Park Event which is an exciting new music event which will feature a number of Celtic music bands/musicians. This is the first year of the event in what we hope will become an on-going yearly event.

In between all of these awesome events, we are working on a new CD. We will be providing more updates on that later.

We look forward to seeing you all out in the audience!

Ockham's Interview: On The Spot with Daniel McManus

We sit down with bassist Daniel McManus for an On The Spot Interview and find out what musician got him into Celtic music, which bands his son introduced him to, how a chance meeting 5 years ago put him on the path to joining Ockham's Razor, what he is thinking about while playing a few of his favorite Razor songs, which former member he pays tribute to and where is this line up of Ockham's Razor headed.

Have you ever wanted to sit down with the musicians and pick their brain?  We have taken care of the dirty part and brought you the results. It's an On the spot interview with Daniel McManus.

Do you have questions you would like for us to ask members of the band? Email them to us at: info@seattlerazors.com
